ARTIST STATEMENT: I try to capture the personal essence of a creative spirit. My intention is to depart from classical portraiture and incorporate my personal experience in viewing the artist's work. In Dana, I use the pebbles in the paper to divide resistance and struggle as she does in her paintings.
