CHARLOTTE ANDRY GIBBS - Mid-Century Modern
38 h x 50 w x 2 l
DESCRIPTION: acrylic on linen, in vintage (1952) framed
ARTIST STATEMENT: These three paintings reflect my involvement with geometric abstraction, an interest and focus since my MassArt studies in 1985 with Rob Moore, Jr., a brilliant teacher as well as gifted artist. Moore based many of the classroom exercises on Josef Albers' color studies from Albers's years teaching at Yale, and Moore's dictum "Shape - Value - Hue," the basis for painting.
