ARTIST STATEMENT: One of my biggest concerns is how drawing and painting relate to my life and art practice. I believe they are the way I set relationships between images; what is there, what we are able to remember, and what comes from our imagination as creative subjects. They are mostly ways of getting to know the world around me through gaze. The importance of drawing and painting as contemplative actions explains why I work from life or through photography and build my own file.
