LINDA PAGANI, MFA 13
18 h x 12 w
DESCRIPTION: archival pigment print, framed
STATEMENT: Utilizing light, architecture, and landscape, I examine the coexistence of artificial and natural structures. Light and shadow are my drawing tools in transforming space into an experience. Alternating between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional, I question perspective through photography, sculpture and installation. My current work, dissolving / re-emerging, is a self-reflection, both visually and spiritually. The female figure is portrayed as fading away and returning. It is a part of a broader body of work that addresses the complex relationship between female and feminine identity. I hope to bring attention to the challenges contemporary women face in constructing a present-day definition of "womanhood."
