ARTIST STATEMENT: I create floating kingdoms as a metaphor for the inner depths of the mind. Spirituality and the fantastic merge as one, blurring the line between reality and utopian ideals. I am inspired by Asian teachings of consciousness, ancient Japanese art and Buddhist thought depicting life and death as an infinite cycle. There is a transcendental quality to the work where the nonphysical realm meets the realities of life. Lands are often floating over vast waters or sky where heaven and earth merge.
