DESCRIPTION: Drawings & Watercolors, Unframed, Watercolors and white gel pen
ARTIST STATEMENT: Stars. We see it get up at sunrise; we see it recline at sunset. The responsibility of shining as well as resting. I wanted the detailed face and the diagonals on the upper part to bring our attention to a subtle blank space in the piece. This is a recreation of Aykut Aydogdu’s work. The slightly impossible neck brings a tension to the piece. To put my own character into it, I used distinct watercolor colorful techniques for what could be a sky and sea.
